Desalination at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon
Jessica Jones is the Director of Community Relations at Poseidon Water, the owner of the desalination plant on the Agua Hedionda Lagoon. Ms. Jones has been leading the media relations, outreach, community education, and other development activities for the Carlsbad and Huntington Beach Desalination Plants since 2000, is on the Board of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary, SD League of Women’s Voters and CalDesal.
Poseidon’s vision is to be the partner of choice for local governments and industrial water users interested in investments in water infrastructure projects at a lower cost and reduced risk. They provide state-of-the-art technology, management expertise, and innovative financing solutions to meet their customer’s need for clean, fresh water in challenging environments. Specifically, The Claude "Bud" Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant, located on the Agua Hedionda Lagoon is a 50 million gallon per seawater desalination plant located adjacent to the Encina Power Station.
